Best of St. Patrick's Day Recipe Round-Up
St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays simply because I'm Irish and the holiday gives me the perfect reason to cook good Irish food. Below are a few of the best Irish themed recipes I've created over the past few years. Since my kitchen is still in its final remodeling stages, I wasn't able to cook up much new this year, but I love the below staples. I hope you Enjoy. (I've also added a few tasty recipes from some of my favorite fellow food bloggers' sites.)
Guinness Spiked Irish Shepherd's Pie
Cheesy Irish Scalloped Potatoes
Irish Chocolate Cookies with Baileys Royal Icing
Potato Leek Soup with Beer Braised Cabbage
And here are a few fabulous recipes from some of my amazingly cool food blogger friends...Jamesons Irish Stew with Star Anise and Irish Soda Bread with Caraway Seeds from Joyce at Friends Drift Inn
Slow Cooker Irish PiΓ±a Colada Oatmeal (It's Green!) from Kathy at Healthy Slow Cooking
Corned Beef and Cabbage Mini Melts from GenΓͺt at Raised on a Roux
Irish Apple Beer Bread from Sommer at A Spicy Perspective
Baileys Cream Cheese Marbled Brownies from Niki at life, in recipes
Pub Food: Bangers and Mash from Mindy at The World in My Kitchen
An alternative dish of Green Lentil Soup with Swiss Chard and Lemon from Becky at Glue and Glitter
And, to sum it all up, a little synopsis of St. Patrick's Day history and origins from Rachel at Time for Good Food.
I hope you have a fantastic St. Patrick's Day! I will be traveling and in one of my favorite, fun towns - Portland, OR. I'll be seeking out a pint of Guinness and some Corned Beef and Cabbage (or maybe I'll make my own with my good friends Danni and Bud). Regardless, I'll be rocking the green and having a grand old time. You can follow the Southern Food Bloggers listed here and more on our Community Page on Facebook.
