Embracing the Rain
“We must embrace the rain, even in those moments when we are weathering our own personal storms.”
It was so wet outside this morning that the birds weren’t chirping. I’d grown accustomed to waking to their sweet songs at dawn, but this morning – silence. Just a sweet patter of rain on the window panes. This afternoon the rain ceased. The birds have taken up residence in the apple tree outside my office window and have commenced their courtship songs of Spring.
Sometimes we, too, lose our song. The circumstances of the day become too dark and dreary and we cannot bring ourselves to sing. We become tired and worn down under the weight of our perceived burdens. At these times we must remember that the light is always there, waiting for us to lift our heads and move forward.
We must embrace the rain, even in those moments when we are weathering our personal storms. Eventually the rain will soften to an end and we will come out stronger and wiser for having survived it.
